Abstract

Baseline studies are the most commonly recognized element of Environmental Impact Assessment. The term usually refers to the collection of background information on the environmental setting for a proposed development project and it is normally one of the first activities undertaken In an EIA. Present paper deals with baseline studies for biological  environment that are pre­ requisite for the preparation of EIA report.
