Abstract

The present study deals with the study on pollution status and its impact on water quality of River Ganga at Haridwar. For the present study four sampling stations viz. Saptrishi ghat, Har-ki-pauri, Chandi ghat and Pul Jatwara were selected and various physico-chemical parameters i.e. temperature, conductivity, total solids, pH, velocity, turbidity, BOD, COD, DO, free CO2, acidity, alkalinity, total hardness, chlorides, calcium, magnesium, phosphates were analyzed. Minor fluctuations in physico-chemical parameters were observed during course of study at all the sampling stations. Correlation coefficients between different parameters were also calculated during present study.
